Two inquisitive kids...

I am thankful for two children that are always ready to learn.

Kelsi spends every minute of the day trying to learn from us and also from Tyler, she imitates and copies EVERYTHING he says...especially if we giggle at what he just said....She wants to make us laugh too! She loves to do 12 piece puzzles, over and over again, and each time she does it, she is just as proud of herself as if it was the first time! She is excited to tell me about school everyday that I pick her up...She usually only has one or two things that she wants to share, but she can't wait to get those two things out! She has already learned almost all of the names in her classroom, and has taken pride in doing this...she was on a mission because she knew that I was going to ask her each day for a new name!

One of things that Kelsi has always liked is sand...digging, scooping, pretending it is food....hands on exploring...Her favorite item at her pre-school open house was the sand table!

Tyler is definitely even more studious than Kelsi (but I must add that he has two years on her!). He LOVES school...it is the only time that he doesn't complain about having to leave the house or his toys. He likes to sit and listen/learn (this is still a bit tricky for Kelsi), and he loves to do any type of project where he can make something! He is so curious about the world around him and is always making connections. He LOVES anything that helps him learn...He has learned so much from his Leapfrog products...first his Clickstart Computer, then the Tag Reader and now his Leapster. He has a great memory and can spit out all different facts about dinosaurs and animals.

This post was inspired by something that just happened...Tyler was just finishing up Super Y and they were singing their song that said, "We've got the power, the power to read." Tyler, under his breath said, "That is what I need to get...I need to get the power to read." Then he said, "Mama, if I can get the power to read, I can read my own books. I could even pick out my books and read them to myself at bedtime...that would be super fun." Just one of the many connections he is always making!
